Greg Hennig
General
Counsel
Gregory Hennig is an
attorney with concentration in medical device and
small business start-up, culminating from his 25
years of legal and business experience. He is an
undergraduate of the University of New Mexico in
Albuquerque and a law graduate of the University of
Houston Law Center. His experience over 25 years in
the corporate business areas includes special skill
emphasis in emerging and other life-science and
technology companies.
Most recently, Hennig has committed the vast
majority of his time to emerging medical advance
diagnosis devices in the life-science fields,
providing full legal activities and oversight
controls in start-up businesses in differing stages
of development, with legal services ranging from
corporate structure, securities and angel investor
completion, through contracts and transactions
negotiation, drafting and completion, to general
administrative activities including human resource
and general compliance management and oversight.
Hennig has continual involvement in development of
over twenty recent start-ups, emerging and
non-profit businesses, all of which have remained
lean in the recent economic down-turn and have
survived as viable companies with promising futures.
He is continuing outsource general counsel for a
number of the emerging companies with which he has
become associated and been retained.
Included in this has been special support
development involving the Texas Emerging Technology
Fund development grants and loans program of the
Governor’s Office of the State of Texas and
activities with the Houston Technology Center and
the Houston Bio-Life Science Center.
While an early part of his career included a heavy
amount of business and commercial duties, for which
Hennig practiced before the state courts of Texas,
the federal trial courts in the Southern, Eastern
and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Fifth
Circuit Court of Appeal (and further licensed to
practice before the US Supreme Court), a purposeful
redirection of his legal career shifted totally away
from the courts and conflicts to a total desire to
build meaningful business interests with measurable
impact on the positive growth of client and society
needs. This led to the strong current passion in
emerging technology, life-science, and specialized
interest development in which he has become
immersed.
Hennig has been a member of special interest
committees and sections of state and federal bar
associations, served as a director or committee
member of various bar associations (federal, state
and special interest), and participated in both
program design and as a speaker in numerous
continuing legal education programs and efforts.
He has also been a speaker for Continuing Legal
Education courses and events in Houston and has been
a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.
