Andre Conjusteau, Ph.D.
André completed his
undergraduate degree in the Chemistry Department at
Université de Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada. Following
graduation, he pursued a Masters degree in
Theoretical Chemistry simulating the behavior of
molecular ions in intense laser fields.
He then promptly moved
to the United States and enrolled at Princeton
University. Leaving theory aside, his Doctorate
thesis focused on high-resolution spectroscopy of
molecules embedded in superfluid helium nanodroplets.
He made extensive use of microwave, infrared and
ultraviolet radiation, and his thesis relied almost
exclusively on devices either custom-built or
heavily modified in-house.
During his last
semester at Princeton, he was awarded a Robert A.
Millikan Postdoctoral Scholarship at the California
Institute of Technology. His work with the Physical
Measurement and Control group focused on the
development of “wet mirror” cavity enhanced
absorptive spectroscopy, both in the infrared and
the ultraviolet.
Following his tenure at
Caltech, he moved to Houston, Texas and has since
been Research Scientist at Fairway Medical
Technologies. He designs and builds broadband
optoacoustic transducers, and devises realistic
testing apparatuses and protocols. As he’s been
directly involved with radiation sources for over a
decade, he also helps interfacing lasers to the
optoacoustic systems FMT develops. When entropy
prevails, he also serves as resident laser mechanic.
